Century Arms’ Red Army Standard 7.62x39mm is back on the streets, as Century Arms announced the return of the premium, boat tail ammunition.
Redesigned, the new version offers a boat tail bullet with sealed neck and primer. Originally launched last year, the company said it’s importing the ammunition again in limited quantities. Manufactured in Russia, the ammo boasts a 124-grain FMJBT bullet paired with a bimetal jacket and lead core, non-corrosive primers, and lacquered steel for smooth feeding and extracting.
“We’ve spent a great amount of effort to develop what we feel is the best 7.62×39 ammo currently imported into the country,” William Sucher, the company’s Director of Business Development, said in a press release. “As the leader in the AK market, we wanted to ensure that our customers have access to the best ammo possible to run through their rifles and pistols. We have been thrilled by the reception of this sku and are working diligently on increasing capacity to meet the demand.”
The 7.62x39mm FMJBT is the first caliber to drop with a 5.45×39 FMJ and .223 FMJBT both set to hit consumers on May 18. The 7.62 variant is available now in 20 round boxes in addition to 1,000 round cases with MSRP set at $5 per box and $250 per case.
